About Sherry
It all began.
Hello and welcome! My name is Sherry Walsh (she, her, hers) and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate which means that I work under the supervision of a qualified supervisor.
I have a Master of Social Work Degree from Simmons University where I focused in trauma therapy. I also received a Graduate Certificate in Trauma Practice.
I work with families, and individuals, including adults, teens, adolescents and children.
I approach each individual, or family with care and concern, with a desire to help them identify their strengths and build on those strengths within a supportive, nonjudgmental, empathic environment.
I’m originally from Eastern North Carolina and I moved here with my husband and son in 2017 after falling in love with the mountains of Western North Carolina. The mountains offer a safe place to heal, grow and learn.
I also work full time at Daymark Recovery Services in Newland as a therapist. I enjoy spending time with my pets, and family, being outdoors, traveling, camping, reading, amusement parks and thrifting..

Treatment modalities include: Solution Focused therapy, play therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, creative and expressive therapies. I approach clients with a strength based focus, believing that clients move at their own pace and have a right to self-determination. Therapy starts "where the client is" and goals reflect their needs and input.. I do not discriminate or refuse professional services to anyone on the basis of race, gender, religion, national origin, or sexual orientation.
