Contract Therapist

Caring Mind Counseling is committed to serving the High Country and surrounding areas of NC. We strive to offer a variety of counseling services including a variety of experiential approaches. Caring Mind Counseling is starting to grow and we are excited to expand our one counselor one dog team!

Job Responsibilities:

  • Establish positive, trusting rapport with patients.

  • Diagnose and treat mental health disorders.

  • Create individualized treatment plans according to patient needs and circumstances.

  • Meet with patients regularly to provide counseling, treatment and adjust treatment plans as necessary.

  • Conduct ongoing assessments of patient progress.

  • Involve and advise family members when appropriate.

  • Refer patients to outside specialists or agencies when necessary.

  • Maintain thorough records of patient meetings and progress.

  • Follow all safety protocols and maintain client confidentiality.

  • Contribute to the practice by accomplishing related tasks as needed.

Pay Schedule

Rate per session is based on the insurance-contracted rate and may vary. Typically, the rate will be between $110-$140 per session. For example, if the session rate is $120, here’s what you can expect to receive per 60 minute session based on the number of sessions you conduct per work week:

1-4 sessions per work week=35% of total payment (e.g. $120 for one session, your pay= $42)

5-9 sessions per work week= 40% of total payment (e.g. $120 for one session, your pay= $48)

10-14 sessions per work week= 45% of total payment (e.g. $120 for one session, your pay= $54)

15 + sessions per work week= 50% of total payment (e.g. $120 for one session, your pay= $60)

Potentially negotiable based on experience level.

Work Hours & Benefits

This is a contract position meaning that you are compensated per paid session. We will assist you with finding clientele through our many connections in the community, credentialing you with insurances, and taking care of your billing. This position will consist of both remote work and in person work at our office location. We are adamant about helping you find the right clientele and succeed in this next chapter of your career. Please note that getting you established as an insurance provider through our company and building your clientele will take some time. We encourage you to apply if you are available to start work within the next 4-6 months.

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or related field

  • Current with all state licensing requirements, including LCMHC, LCSW and LMFT, psychologist (restricted/associate license are acceptable)

  • No reprimands on your licensure

  • Have malpractice Insurance
